Bone – Muhammadiyah University of Bone (UNIM Bone) continues to strengthen its presence in the global education arena by hosting a Guest Lecturer and International Workshop featuring a prominent international speaker from India, Assoc. Prof. Dr. K.J. Vargheese, MA, PhD, BEd, PGDJ, PGDELT. Alongside him, the event also featured an international-level speaker, Dr. Andi Asripan, S.Pd., M.Pd. The activity focused on two primary topics: “Innovative Pathways for 21st Century Education” and an “International Workshop on ICT Integration and Academic Publishing.”
The event, held at the UNIM Bone Rectorate Hall, was attended by university leadership, lecturers, students, and representatives from partner higher education institutions. The presence of the speaker from India provided fresh insights into the transformation of 21st-century education, specifically in integrating Information and Communication Technology (ICT) into the learning process and strategies for academic publishing in reputable journals.
During the Guest Lecturer session, the speakers presented various innovative pathways to enhance educational quality through creative, collaborative, and technology-based approaches. Participants were encouraged to understand the global challenges facing the world of education while identifying innovation opportunities adaptable to the local context.
Meanwhile, the International Workshop equipped participants with practical skills in integrating ICT into the classroom, utilizing digital platforms for online learning, and strategic steps for preparing scientific articles for international publication. The workshop was highly interactive, featuring Q&A sessions and live simulations of various supporting software.
The Rector of UNIM Bone, Dr. H. Muhammad Jafar, S.Pd., M.Pd., stated in his remarks that this event is part of the university’s commitment to driving campus internationalization.
“We want our students and lecturers not only to compete at the national level but also to be ready to participate in the global academic discourse. Today’s speakers from India open new horizons on how innovation and technology can strengthen the quality of our education,” he remarked.
Through this program, UNIM Bone hopes to expand its international cooperation network, encourage cross-border research collaboration, and enhance the competence of the academic community in educational technology and scientific publishing.
